C’est le plus grand des oiseaux à notre époque. Il mesure entre 175 et 275 cm selon la sous-espèce et s’il s’agit d’un mâle ou d’une femelle.

Le poids est aussi imposant puisqu’il peut atteindre les 150 kg.

L’autruche d’Afrique est un animal dangereux pour l’homme. Ses pattes sont redoutables. Son bec et la force de ses coups peuvent blesser voire tuer.

Currently, it’s the largest bird. It is between 175 and 275 cm depending on the subspecies and whether it is a male or a female.
